Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has slammed Rahul Gandhi for saying that he will not apologise for his remarks since he is not like Savarkar.
The Congress leader on March 25 had told reporters who asked him about BJP's repeated demands for an apology from him for a comment made on Indian democracy during his recent visit to UK that 'my name is not Savarkar, my name is Gandhi and Gandhis don't apologise.'
Reacting to the remark, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that Rahul Gandhi does not realise the significance of Savarkar's contribution to India.
'You are getting an ass to run a horse's race. They really need to do some serious introspection. People of India would judge them for what they are. Fight court's action in court but instead, you are invoking Mahabharat and Savarkar,' the minister said.
