As Congress holds multiple discussions to choose between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar, new claimants have emerged for the chief minister's posts.
The All India Veershaiva Mahasabha, the body representing the influential Lingayats has demanded the top post saying 34 of the newly elected Congress MLAs are from the community. They also want ministerial berths for the Lingayats proportionate to the number of MLAs from their community.
Demands are also coming from supporters of veteran Congress leader G Parameshwara who want a Dalit to be chosen for the chief minister's post.
