As many as 223 employees have been removed from the Delhi Women Commission on the directions of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.

In an order, the DCW said that the appointments made when Aam Aadmi Party leader Swati Maliwal was its chairperson were against the rules.

It said that the posts were created without due procedure and that the approval of the Lieutenant Governor was not taken.

The order further mentioned that a committee formed to look into the issue concluded that large scale administrative and financial irregularities were observed in the functioning of the DCW.

The order added that the Commission had bypassed the competent authority by creating posts and engaging manpower on contractual basis.
