Balrampur (UP), June 26 – A tragic incident unfolded when a police SUV veered off course and rammed into a house, leading to the death of a man sleeping on his verandah. The incident occurred on Thursday in the Parsupur area.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Vishal Pandey, reported that the SUV from Harraiya Police Station was returning from patrol duty when it lost control near the Parsupur intersection. The vehicle then collided with a tin shed attached to a roadside house, hitting 42-year-old Pankaj Jaiswal, who was asleep on the verandah.

The injured Jaiswal was immediately transported by police to the primary health centre, where medical staff referred him to the district hospital for further treatment.

However, upon arrival at the district hospital, doctors declared Jaiswal dead.

Pandey stated that Jaiswal's body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. An investigation is currently in progress to ascertain the cause of the accident.

The Additional Superintendent assured that appropriate action will follow based on the findings of the inquiry report.
