New Delhi, Aug 15 (PTI) — On the auspicious occasion of India's 79th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the remarkable success of the Maha Kumbh held in Prayagraj, describing it as a testament to India's immense strength and diversity.

Speaking from the iconic Red Fort, Prime Minister Modi highlighted how the Maha Kumbh, a grand religious congregation, exemplified the spirit and vibrancy of the nation. "At Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, we witnessed the true essence of India coming to life. The gathering of crores of people united by a single thought and purpose is a phenomenal spectacle, admired by the world," he stated.

The Maha Kumbh, a significant religious event occurring every 12 years, took place in Prayagraj starting from January 13 and spanned across 45 days. During this period, over 62 crore devotees participated in the holy ritual of taking a dip at the Sangam.
