Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech to the US Congress, it emerged that a bill has been introduced in the US legislature to fast-track the sale of US weapons to India.
The bill was introduced in both the US House of Representatives and the Senate. The legislation aims to streamline and speed up the review and sales process for foreign military exports.
Congressman Andy Barr, one of the legislators behind the bill, said that "by removing the red tape around military sales", the USA will recognise India as the key partner that it is.
