Possibly casting a cloud over the high-profile visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to America, former US President Barack Obama spoke about the situation of minorities in India.

In an interview with CNN, Obama said that Biden should raise the issue of protection of the "Muslim minority" in "majority Hindu" India.

The former President also said that if he had a conversation with PM Modi, he would say that if the rights of minorities are not protected in India, then there is a strong possibility that the country will start pulling apart.
