New Delhi, Aug 21 (PTI): Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra reported on Thursday that Chief Minister Rekha Gupta sustained serious physical injuries and is in a state of shock following an attack. Despite her injuries, she has been working from her residence.

Mishra emphasized that the assault on Gupta was executed in a "planned manner," part of a "well-planned conspiracy." He stated that the alleged attacker is a "professional criminal" with a record of serious offenses.

The minister visited Gupta at her residence on Thursday morning. After their meeting, Mishra mentioned that the chief minister requires rest due to the severity of her injuries. However, she has been managing her work by reviewing files since Wednesday at her home.

"She has been actively working, but she requires rest. Her physical injuries are serious, and she is in a state of shock," Mishra told the media.

Mishra further asserted that the accused has nine criminal cases filed against him, including charges of attempted murder and smuggling. "The attack was meticulously planned, as proven by two videos recovered from his phone, showing a recce of her residence," he noted.

The chief minister was attacked on Wednesday during a 'Jan Sunwai' program at her residence in north Delhi's Civil Lines.
