New Delhi, July 2 (PTI): Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is set to inaugurate a national conference for chairpersons of urban local bodies (ULBs) in Gurugram, Haryana, this Thursday.
Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh, and Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan will participate alongside other dignitaries in the two-day event. The conference revolves around the theme, ‘Role of Urban Local Bodies in Strengthening Constitutional Democracy and Nation Building’.
The National Level Conference of Chairpersons of Urban Local Bodies brings together delegates from various parts of India to discuss vital topics. These include creating model practices and procedural codes of conduct for General Council Meetings of ULBs, and making municipal governance more efficient in meeting the constitutional mandates.
