Kolkata, Jul 3 (PTI) Archana Majumdar, a member of the National Commission for Women (NCW), is set to visit the residence of Tamanna Khatoon in Nadia, West Bengal, on Monday to meet with her family, according to officials.

Tamanna tragically lost her life on June 23 when a bomb exploded during a victory celebration organized by supporters of the TMC following the party's win in the Kaliganj Assembly by-election.

Her family, who are reportedly supporters of the CPI(M), claim that the attack was politically motivated, stating it was a retaliatory act because of their refusal to support the ruling party.

On Thursday, Tamanna's parents approached the Calcutta High Court, seeking the assistance of senior advocate Bikas Bhattacharya for legal intervention over what they termed as the slow progress of the police investigation into their daughter's tragic death.

They informed reporters that even though the FIR names 24 individuals, only nine have been arrested thus far.

"While the police are attempting to conduct an investigation, their efforts are being hindered. Political interference is blocking the arrest of the remaining accused," her parents alleged.
