New Delhi, Jun 26 (PTI): Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi is set to honor naval personnel with gallantry awards for exemplary leadership, professional accomplishments, and distinguished service at an investiture ceremony on June 27, officials announced on Thursday.
Significantly, this ceremony is the first to be hosted at the newly constructed Nausena Bhawan. During the event, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) will present gallantry and distinguished awards on behalf of the President of India, according to a Navy spokesperson.
The awards to be bestowed include one Yudh Sena Medal (YSM), as well as the Nausena Medal (Gallantry). Furthermore, 13 Nausena Medals for Devotion to Duty and 17 Vishisht Seva Medals will also be awarded.
Additionally, the CNS will confer the Jeevan Raksha Padak for life-saving acts, the Capt Ravi Dhir Memorial Medal for outstanding flight safety, and the Lt V K Jain Memorial Medal for exceptional research contributions. The spokesperson noted that Unit Citations will also be distributed during the ceremony.
