Bhubaneswar, June 30 (PTI): An exciting event unfolded at Nandankanan Zoological Park on Sunday with the birth of seven yellow anacondas, as confirmed by a zoo official.

The parent yellow anacondas were originally brought to the park from the Madras Crocodile Bank Trust back in October 2019, with the last successful breeding occurring in July 2022.

With these new additions, the zoo's anaconda population now comprises two adult males, two adult females, and ten young yellow anacondas, with another anticipated to be born soon, according to the zoo official.

This development is a significant step in the zoo’s ongoing initiative to protect and nurture reptiles.

Yellow anacondas primarily inhabit regions such as Bolivia, Paraguay, and Brazil.
