Amaravati, Aug 15 (PTI) - Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, during a speech on Independence Day, criticized the former YSRCP Government for allegedly leading the state into significant debt. He highlighted the success of the "Super Six" election promise as a major achievement.
After hoisting the national flag, Naidu addressed the crowd, emphasizing the silent revolution achieved by Andhra Pradesh residents who helped the TDP-led NDA coalition come to power in the 2024 elections with a 94 percent success rate.
Naidu asserted that the past year, focused on welfare, development, and effective governance, brought immense satisfaction for the NDA government in its service to the people.
“I am saying this today with humility and pride. The coalition government is offering unmatched welfare assistance. There is no obstacle to development. There are unprecedented efforts for good governance. This is a record. This is an all-time record,” Naidu stated.
He accused the previous YSRCP administration of damaging the state significantly over the past five years, noting a substantial increase in state debt to Rs 10.30 lakh crore.
Naidu also claimed that crucial projects like the Polavaram project and development works in the Amaravati capital had been stalled under the previous regime.
The event, held at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada, included Naidu inspecting the Police Department alongside DGP Harish Kumar Gupta, followed by a police march past.
Naidu extended his Independence Day greetings to the nation and highlighted India's emergence as a powerful nation globally in a post on X.
He further urged citizens to unite for the state's unity, security, and progress.
