Nagaland’s oldest resident whose children predeceased her dies at 121

The oldest living resident of Nagaland died at the age of 121. Pupirei Pfukha passed away on March 15 at her home in Kigwema village of Kohima district.

According to a Hindustan Times Report, her age was verified through a 1982-issued voter identity card, which showed her 80 years old then.

Pupirei's family said her husband passed away in 1969, followed by her children. She is now survived by her 18 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Locals told HT that she had a vivid memory and had been a witness to three wars and famines.
