Muzaffarnagar (UP), Jul 1: A Muzaffarnagar court has handed life imprisonment to five individuals, including a man and his two sons, in a murder case, as informed by a government lawyer on Tuesday. Additional District and Sessions Judge Rekha Singh on June 30 also levied a fine of Rs 40,000 on each of the accused—Vijaypal, his sons Ajit and Govinda, and two others, Saurabh and Ankur. The court found them guilty under Sections 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with a deadly weapon), 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or providing false information to shield the offender), 120B (criminal conspiracy), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC. Government lawyer Kamal Kumar revealed on Tuesday to PTI that Mageram, the village head of Ahroda village, was fatally shot and his body subsequently set ablaze due to an old enmity at Ahroda village, under Jansath police station, Muzaffarnagar district, on July 15, 2015. The son of the victim ultimately lodged a complaint with the authorities.
