A Muslim woman from Mumbai has embarked on a journey to Ayodhya ahead of next month's Ram Temple inauguration.

Shabnam Shiekh, who began the 1,425-kilometer journey on December 21, believes that Ram's worship extends beyond specific religions or borders.

She told NDTV that Ram belongs to everyone, regardless of their caste or religion.

While state police takes care of the arrangement for her meals and accommodations, Shabnam who is accompanied by Raman Raj Sharma and Vineet Pandey covers 25-30 kilometres daily on foot.

Despite online hate, Shabnam told the news network that she stays positive and finds solidarity even from Muslims while saying 'Jai Shri Ram.' She also said that they have not fixed any date for arrival in Ayodhya.

The Ram Temple in Ayodhya is set to be inaugurated on January 22.
