Police have mobilized 20 teams to track down and apprehend the intruder who stabbed Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan during a burglary attempt in his Bandra apartment early Thursday, officials reported.
CCTV footage from the 'Satguru Sharan' building captured the suspect, armed with a wooden stick and a long Hexa blade, fleeing the scene at 2:33 am. The footage clearly shows a young man wearing a brown collared T-shirt and a red scarf (or 'gamcha'), descending from the sixth floor.
The 54-year-old actor, who resides on the 12th floor, was attacked alongside a 56-year-old staff nurse, Eliyama Philip, and a domestic helper. Both suffered blade injuries, according to an official. The complainant, nurse Philip, provided key information to the police.
Authorities are using details from the footage and other clues to hunt for the intruder, who may have changed his clothes before fleeing. Statements have been taken from nurse Philip, house staff, and the building’s security guard. Investigators are also checking if the suspect has a criminal history.
Police are utilizing their network of informers and technical resources in the search for the attacker. The investigation is ongoing, and efforts to locate the suspect continue.
