Jabalpur, Jun 17 (PTI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced an additional "shagun" of Rs 250 for beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Yojana on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, supplementing the regular Rs 1,250 monthly installment. Yadav made this announcement during a function in Belkheda village, which is about 40 km from Jabalpur's district headquarters. While the Ladli Behna Yojana offers Rs 1,250 per month to eligible women, the extra Rs 250 as "shagun" will be transferred next month, coinciding with the Raksha Bandhan festival. The chief minister also disbursed a total of Rs 1,551.44 crore as the June installment into the bank accounts of 1.27 crore beneficiaries of the scheme. During this event, Yadav also announced plans to open a government college in Belkheda and to build an office complex along with residential quarters for revenue department staff.
