Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 11 announced India's successful test flight of its indigenously developed Agni-5 missile.

Developed by the Defense Research and Development Organisation scientists, the missile is equipped with Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle technology.

This will ensure that a single missile can deploy multiple warheads at different locations.

Taking to social media X, the prime minister hailed the scientists for Mission Divyastra. With this,  India has joined the select group of nations who have this capability.

This system is equipped with indigenous Avionics systems and high accuracy sensor packages, which ensured that the re-entry vehicles reached the target points within the desired accuracy. The capability is an enunciator of India’s growing technological prowess.
