Mirzapur, June 30 (PTI) - A tragic incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur district as a 39-year-old truck driver was found deceased near a roadside eatery on Monday, with initial suspicions from the police pointing towards a heart attack as the cause of death.
The driver, identified as Nasrat from Pratapgarh district, was discovered lying near the New Shikhar Dhaba in Baghoda of the Rajgarh area, in proximity to where his truck was parked.
Upon being alerted, police officials, accompanied by a forensic field unit, promptly arrived at the scene and transported Nasrat to the Community Health Centre in Rajgarh. However, upon arrival, doctors declared him brought dead.
According to police reports, preliminary medical assessments indicate that the cause of death appears to be a heart attack.
A police press note mentioned that Nasrat was accompanied by his truck helper at the time of the incident. His family has been duly informed of the untimely demise.
Initially, Nasrat's family objected to a post-mortem examination. However, after it was explained to them that the procedure was necessary to complete legal formalities, they agreed to it. Consequently, his body has been sent to the district hospital for post-mortem examination.
