Following reports in UK media that India is launching a diplomatic campaign to bring back the Kohinoor diamond and other artefacts from England, sources in the Narendra Modi administration denied the news.

Indian ministers and diplomats have not been tasked with securing the return of artefacts from the UK, government sources were quoted as saying by NDTV.

On May 12, UK news outlet "The Telegraph" claimed that Delhi is planning to wage a diplomatic campaign for the Kohinoor and thousands of other treasures as part of the "largest repatriation claim" faced by the UK.
