Security Forces Seize Brown Sugar Worth Rs 1 Crore in Manipur

Imphal, Sep 5 (PTI) Security forces have successfully detained ten individuals in Manipur's Churachandpur and Senapati districts, seizing brown sugar valued over Rs 1 crore, according to police reports on Friday.

In the Lamjang area of Churachandpur district, four individuals were apprehended on Wednesday. They were found with 1.5 kg of brown sugar cleverly hidden in 122 soap cases.

Additionally, the security forces, in a separate operation on the same day, arrested six people, one of whom is a woman, at the Tadubi Check Post in Senapati district, confiscating 2.1 kg of brown sugar from them, a police official revealed.

During the latter operation, two four-wheelers were also seized by the authorities.

The accused are currently undergoing questioning for further information, the police officer added.
