Imphal, Sep 2: Security forces achieved a significant drug bust in Manipur's Thoubal district, seizing Methamphetamine tablets valued at over Rs 1 crore and arresting two individuals, according to police reports on Tuesday.

On Monday, following a tip-off, a combined team consisting of the BSF and Thoubal District Police conducted a raid at a residence in the Thoubal Hangamthabi area. The operation resulted in the confiscation of 2.356 kg of Methamphetamine tablets, often referred to as party drugs, along with Rs 2.04 lakh in cash, walkie-talkie sets, and gold ornaments.

The homeowner and his wife were taken into custody, and an FIR has been filed at the Lilong Police Station, police officials confirmed.

Authorities have estimated the street value of the seized drugs to be over Rs 1 crore.
