Manipur declared 'disturbed area' amid fresh violence

The Biren Singh government has declared the entire Manipur state a "disturbed area" in an official notification on Wednesday.

As per India Today, except for 19 specific police station areas, the entire state has been declared a "disturbed area".

State capital Imphal, Lamphel, City, Singjamei, Sekmai, Lamsang, Patsoi, Wangoi, Porompat, Heingang, Lamlai, Irilbung, Leimakhong, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Nambol, Moirang, Kakching, and Jiribam are included in the list of 'disturbed areas'

Pertinently, the decision comes following violence in Imphal over kidnapping and killing of two youths in the state. Their picture surfaced on Tuesday.
