Man Killed in Gurugram: Assailants Posed as Delivery Agents

Gurugram, Aug 5 (PTI): In a shocking incident, a man was shot dead by unidentified assailants disguised as food and grocery delivery agents in Sector 77, Gurugram, police reported on Tuesday.

The tragic event unfolded on Monday night in front of Palm Hills Society on SPR road. The victim, identified as 40-year-old Rohit Shaukeen from Kamruddin Nagar, Delhi, had come to Gurugram for business purposes.

According to police, Shaukeen was standing outside his vehicle near Ullahwas market in the Sector 77 region when the attackers struck. Clad in uniforms of food delivery company Zomato and quick commerce platform Blinkit, the assailants unleashed a hail of bullets on Shaukeen. They fired over a dozen rounds, with five to six bullets striking Shaukeen fatally, causing instant death. An FIR has been lodged at the Kherki Daula police station.

Additional Commissioner of Police, Manesar, Virender Saini, commented, "The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained. A probe is underway and the accused will be arrested soon."

Authorities are meticulously investigating all possible angles and scrutinizing CCTV footage to identify the attackers.
