Mamata Banerjee: Centre has frozen bank accounts of Mother Teresa’s charity

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday claimed that the central government has blocked the bank accounts of Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity in India.

Mamata took to twitter and wrote that she was shocked to hear that on Christmas, Union Ministry froze all bank accounts of Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity in India!

The Trinamool Congress chief said 22,000 patients & employees of Mother Teresa's charity have been left without food & medicines.

Though there was no response from the central government, Mamata wrote that while the law is paramount, humanitarian efforts must not be compromised.
