Chants of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Vande Mataram' greeted India's defence minister Rajnath Singh as he reached Malaysia for a 3-day trip.

Members of the Indian diaspora welcomed Rajnath Singh to Kuala Lumpur while shouting pro-India slogans and waving the Indian tricolour.

The minister said that he was "delighted" to visit the "beautiful city", and looked forward to his diplomatic engagements.

"Looking forward to my engagements with the political leadership of Malaysia, further strengthening of bilateral defence ties and Enhanced Strategic Partnership," he tweeted.
