Mumbai, June 30 (PTI) – Maharashtra recorded 13 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, with one patient suffering from comorbidities succumbing to the virus, according to the state health department.
This brings the total number of infections in the state since the beginning of the year to 2,501.
An official statement noted that the patient who died was from Kolhapur district.
Breaking down the new cases, Pune reported five, Mumbai had two, and there was one each from Raigad, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Kolhapur, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Since January 1, the health department has conducted 29,757 COVID-19 tests across Maharashtra, with 2,365 patients having recovered so far.
Mumbai alone has reported 992 cases this year, with 551 of them occurring in June.
In terms of fatalities, 38 patients have died from the virus in the state since the start of the year, with 37 of them having pre-existing health conditions, the report highlighted.
