A police case has been registered against former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswami for allegedly attacking an AMMK party functionary at Madurai airport.

The incident took place when a passenger reportedly heckled, started to record EPS live on Facebook, and called him a 'traitor' for betraying AIADMK leader Sasikala while on a shuttle bus.

EPS’s personal security officer then snatched the passenger's phone and later handed it over to police officials.

A case was also filed by the police against the passenger for heckling EPS in public space.
