A woman in Kolkata has been accused of killing her newborn baby by throwing him out of a window.
The woman claimed that she did not know that she was pregnant as her menstrual cycle had been regular for the past few months, police said. She gave birth to the baby inside a toilet, and allegedly threw him out after "getting perplexed with his cries".
The incident took place in the Kasba area of Kolkata on April 22, 2023.
Police said that a preliminary probe found that the woman is suffering from some mental issues, and her husband is an alcoholic.
