The newly inaugurated Bengaluru-Mysuru highway in Karnataka was left inundated after heavy rains in the Ramanagara region of the state on Friday night.
The highway thrown open for commuters six days ago was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Built at the cost of ₹ 8,480 crores, the highway was waterlogged near the Ramanagara district at multiple spots.
Sharing videos on social media of the waterlogging, enraged commuters lashed out at the state government over the situation and questioned if the expressway was even ready for the inauguration. The flooding on the highway had even led to a series of bumper-to-bumper accidents.
