Massive protests erupted in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam after the Indian army allegedly removed and set a photograph of slain Iranian military commander Qasem Soleimani on fire on Tuesday.
According to reports, locals alleged that an Army officer removed the photograph of Soleimani from the wall of a house and burnt it in Shia majority Mulbuchan village near Magam town.
Protest in Magam turned violent as locals clashed with armed forces.
Reports said that the Army officer later visited the same house in Malbuchan village and re-installed the photograph of Qasem Soleimani to pacify the protesters.
Senior Police and civil officers visited the spot & talked to the locals. The officers assured the locals that allegations are being enquired into, the police said in a statement.
