Uttar Pradesh: boy shoots principal after being scolded for getting into fight

A Class 12 student of a private school in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur shot at his principal on Saturday after the latter scolded him following an altercation with another student, police said.

A quarrel had broken between two students on Friday and angry at being scolded by the principal, the student, Gurinder Singh returned on Saturday morning with a loaded pistol, according to Narendra Pratap Singh, Assistant Superintendent of Police (South). 

According to a local who spoke to news agency ANI, Gurinder Singh fired multiple rounds out of which two hit principal Ram Singh Verma. He claimed that the principal had slapped Gurinder on Friday. 

ASP Singh told reporters that the principal is in the hospital and out of danger.
