A school in Maharashtra's Washim has captured headlines due to the unusual strength of students and teachers.

A zila parishad primary school in Ganeshpur village has just one student, and he is taught by the sole teacher in the school.

The tutor named Kishor Mankar said that the village has a population of 150, but for the last 2 years, his school has only had one student. Mankar teaches all the subjects to the lone student.

He is also provided with all government benefits, like mid-day meals.

The school is permitted to teach classes 1-4 only, and the boy is the sole child in the appropriate age-group in the village, according to an India Today report.
