On cam: angry villagers attack police van, chase away cops in Bihar

Protesting villagers in Bihar's Sitamarhi on Tuesday attacked police personnel and their vehicle over the death of a local. 

Videos of cops running for their lives as villagers chase them away have gone viral on social media. 

According to NDTV, a person named Mukesh Sahni, of Bhittha village was found dead a few days ago under suspicious circumstances. Calling the death murder, the villagers held protests and even blocked the roads of the village. 

The videos show, locals attacking the cops with sticks and damaging their vehicles when they reached the site to disperse the crowd. 

While a case has been registered against 54 people, 25 people including ten women, have been arrested, the NDTV reported.
