Government sources in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology have responded to alleged Covid vaccination data leak reports, saying that the data is old and the officials are still verifying it, News Agency ANI reported.

The development comes after multiple reports of data leaks of people who registered themselves on government-run-portal---CoWin for covid vaccination surfaced earlier in the day.

If reports are to be believed, personal data, including phone numbers, PAN numbers and Aadhar numbers of the public has been leaked which is now available on messaging app 'Telegram'.

The data breach also includes the personal information of high-profile political leaders.
