Amid a CBI investigation into the triple train crash in Odisha, a dispute has arisen among Railway officials over a joint inspection report on the incident, as per the news outlet Times of India.
Four members of an inter-departmental panel which prepared the report said that the accident occurred because the driver of the Coromandel Express was given the signal to take the loop line where a goods train was parked, leading to a crash.
However, one member has submitted a dissent note, saying that the Coromandel Express was given a green signal to take the main line, and not the loop line.
Railway Ministry officials said that disagreement during preliminary inquiry is normal.
