Amid a controversy over a Jammu and Kashmir school's order on the wearing of 'abaya' by girl students, former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti hit out at the authorities.

She called the choice of clothes and food a "constitutional right". Mufti asked authorities not to force people to do anything which is "against religion".

Earlier, the principal of the Vishwa Bharati School in Rainawari apologised for asking girl students not to wear an 'abaya', or long robe.
