H3N2 Influenza seasonal, rise in cases normal, say govt sources

Amid the growing scare over spread of H3N2, the subtype of influenza A virus, due to which 6 people have died in the country, is seasonal, India Today report said, quoting govt sources.

The report added that the rise in the cases recently is normal. Earlier the govt had assured that the cases will fall by March end.

The ICMR last week issued an advisory with dos and don't during sickness. IMA too has warned against use of antibiotics. 

Notably, the H3N2 Influenza has covid-like symptoms that include cough, fever, chills, sore throat, runny nose among others.
