FIR against 18 students of NIT Assam for allegedly brutally thrashing juniors

A shocking case of bullying in Assam's National Institute of Technology (NIT) has come to light in which Police have charged 18 students for allegedly beating two juniors violently on the campus, according to the NDTV.  

The incident reportedly took place on March 31, involving students of the fourth semester.

A junior student named Siddhant Paitya had to be rushed to Silchar Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition after the incident. The student had accused some senior students of bullying him over his mother tongue and home town. Paitya supported by his family, filed a police case against 18 senior students on Saturday, the report added.
