Cyclone Mocha intensified into a "very severe" storm over the Bay of Bengal on May 12, 2023.

It is expected to make landfall by May 14 along the border of Bangladesh and Myanmar.

The National Disaster Response Force has deployed 8 teams and 200 rescuers in West Bengal's Digha.

Heavy rain is predicted in northeast states and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The Indian Coast Guard is on high alert.
