Days after a conversation allegedly targeting women on the audio chat app Clubhouse went viral, Mumbai police made 3 arrests.

Akash, aged 19, Jaishnav, aged 21, and Yash Parashar, aged 22, were reportedly arrested from Haryana by Mumbai police's cyber cell. Yash Parashar was allegedly the moderator of the chat while Jaishav and Akash may also have been part of other Clubhouse chats aimed at denigrating Muslim women.

Mumbai cops made the arrests days after their Delhi counterparts sought details of the admin of the chat group from Clubhouse executives.

Clips of the chat viral on social media showed the participants allegedly making derogatory and vulgar references for Muslim women. Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal had appealed to Delhi police to take action.

The latest case comes weeks after huge uproar over the Bulli Bai app appearing on code repository platform Github. Bulli Bai was accused of demeaning Muslim women by conducting their mock auction. Both Mumbai and Delhi police had made arrests in the Bulli Bai case.
