After the deaths of several cheetahs translocated to India from other countries, wildlife officials have suggested that radio collars put on the big cats should be taken off, as per The Indian Express.

In the latest incidents, two cheetahs died between July 11 and 14 at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh.

The state's principal chief conservator of forests (wildlife) said that the collar may be causing an infection, and while it might not be fatal, it could be contributing to the deaths.

However, the Union government has said that all cheetah deaths were due to natural causes while challenging the radio collar hypothesis.
