After hours of firefighting operations at Satpura Bhawan in Bhopal, authorities said that the blaze had been brought under control by the morning of June 13, 2023.
The fire had broken out a day earlier at around 4 pm. It started on the third floor and spread to the sixth storey.
The building houses offices of many departments of the Madhya Pradesh government, with the fire consuming many important documents, as per reports.
Ashish Singh, District Collector, Bhopal, said, "As per guidance from the CM, several agencies like Army, CISF, BHEL, Airport gathered here in a timely manner. With a united effort, the fire was brought under control."
