Bengal: internet curbs in Hooghly after fresh clashes during BJP rally

Following fresh clashes in West Bengal's Hooghly on 2 April 2023, the state government ordered the suspension of internet services in the district, as per reports.

Clashes reportedly occurred in the evening of 2 April during a rally organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party. A BJP MLA was injured and hospitalised, the party claimed.

On 30 March, clashes had erupted in Howrah.
