In a bizarre case of stalking, the Ahmedabad Police have registered a case against a man accused of tracking his former partner by using Apple Airtag.

A Hindustan Times report said the matter came to light after strange messages started popping up on her iPhone in May. These messages said things like “AirTag found moving with you,” which made her feel uneasy.

The complainant approached cyber police, who in turn registered a case under Section 354 D of IPC for stalking and the Information and Technology Act’s Section 66E for invading privacy.

The police have said the stalker has been identified and will soon be arrested.

Notably, AirTag is a small, coin-sized device designed to help people locate their valuables and gadgets.
