Lashkar-e-Taiba leader Abdul Salam Bhuttavi, who trained terrorists who carried out the 2008 Mumbai attacks, has died in a Pakistani prison.
According to media reports, Bhuttavi died of a heart attack in a jail in Sheikhupura in Pakistan’s Punjab province on Monday afternoon where he was serving a 16-year prison term in a terror financing case.
Bhuttavi was designated as a terrorist by the UN Security Council in 2012. He was convicted on terror financing charges in 2020.
