H3N2 influenza virus infections continue to rise across India.
Madhya Pradesh reported its first H3N2 case on March 16. A person in his early 20s tested positive in Bhopal but is asymptomatic.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra recorded its third suspected H3N2 death. A 73-year-old man with comorbidities, who had also tested positive for the H3N2 virus, died in Pune on March 16. Earlier, a 74 year-old-man and 23-year-old MBBS students are suspected to have died due to H3N2 infection.
Meanwhile, in the national capital, a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority slated for 16 March was postponed to 18 March.
According to data shared by the Union health ministry, 451 cases of H3N2 have been reported in the country between January 2 and March 5.
