A significant landslide occurred late Sunday night at Mannagudda in Kadaba taluk, causing major disruptions to traffic on National Highway 75, according to officials.

In response to the incident, traffic is being rerouted by the police through several alternative roads, effectively bypassing the segment of the highway impacted by the landslide. The authorities have also deployed earthmoving equipment to clear the debris and restore the highway for regular use.

Officials indicated that all heavy-tonnage vehicles are being redirected via state highways, while lighter vehicles are navigating through major district roads. This diversion strategy has successfully reduced travel time between Bengaluru and Mangaluru by using these inner roads.

However, vehicles with very heavy loads have been halted at the landslide area and will only be permitted to pass once the highway is cleared of debris.
