New Delhi, Aug 5 (PTI) — On Tuesday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta joined the 'Kude Se Azadi' cleanliness drive in Delhi's Timarpur area, urging local residents to embrace collective responsibility for maintaining their neighborhoods clean.

The event took place in Sanjay Basti.

Gupta, accompanied by local MLA Surya Prakash Khatri, emphasized that public representatives throughout Delhi are actively collaborating with resident welfare associations, NGOs, and religious groups to ensure cleanliness in their respective areas.

"This morning, I came across a video of a young boy cleaning a bus stand in Delhi. It was heartening to see such awareness.

If every citizen considers Delhi's cleanliness their own responsibility, nothing can stop the city from becoming truly clean," said the chief minister.

She also inspected JJ Colony, assessed the condition of DDA flats in the area, and interacted with residents.

She stated that directions have been given to the relevant departments to carry out necessary development work in a timely manner.

The month-long 'Kude Se Azadi' initiative, launched on August 1, seeks to promote community involvement in sanitation and waste management across the national capital.
